When Quake came out I was hooked, it was incredible. When QuakeC(and the level designer) came out, I was even more hooked. I literally jumped headfirst into it with no programming or design experience whatsoever. Level designing and me didn't quite work out, I was never happy with the maps I finished. Programming though? Man it was awesome. I spent a ton of time, tinkering and making various mini mods. Eventually, I'm proud to say, I was able to write up a bot that worked quite well, IMO of course.. I never released it, due to that fear of rejection. Eventually, real life took its toll and I started to stray away from it all. I made a few maps for Quake 3 and Unreal Tournament. I dabbled a bit with UDK but nothing to the extent of the fun I had with QuakeC. Anyway, recently, in a effort to better occupy my free time, I've kinda jumped back into programming. So the Pope is resigning. A surprise, but not a shock. You just have to look at his past comments, he has always mentioned that the Pope should resign if he cannot continue to do the job 100%. As I've mentioned, health care is so amazing now, that he could last a long time, ie another John Paul II at the end. A conclave should be starting in early March and by Easter there should be a new Pope. The mass media will get carried away with papabile, and if the past is any indication the next Pope most likely won't come from that last. I'd pick Cardinal Burke or Ranjith if I had a vote :P
