Gracie!


Gracie is almost 2 months old and she has been doing a good job being completely different from her brother. Vinny was generally a good sleeper at night and would let us get 5-6 hours of sleep at a time. She can sleep 5-6, but usually it is 3-4. She is growing perfectly according to the doctor.

Right now the The Boss is still home from work, she has enough leave to get her through January and possibly through half of February. This gives us plenty of time to make sure Gracie can take a bottle without a sweat.

Late Night Ramblings

So apparently, late at night, when the baby wakes us up, I sometimes speak incoherently. These are a few of my highlights, so to speak.(typed up by my wife at 4:30 AM feeding) "You gotta give it to the snow people, you know [like I'm (my wife) the dumb one], the ones at the iPad store.  You plug the people in and they turn into a Lego monster." Programming!

When Quake came out I was hooked, it was incredible. When QuakeC(and the level designer) came out, I was even more hooked. I literally jumped headfirst into it with no programming or design experience whatsoever. Level designing and me didn't quite work out, I was never happy with the maps I finished. Programming though? Man it was awesome. I spent a ton of time, tinkering and making various mini mods. Eventually, I'm proud to say, I was able to write up a bot that worked quite well, IMO of course.. I never released it, due to that fear of rejection. Eventually, real life took its toll and I started to stray away from it all. I made a few maps for Quake 3 and Unreal Tournament. I dabbled a bit with UDK but nothing to the extent of the fun I had with QuakeC. Anyway, recently, in a effort to better occupy my free time, I've kinda jumped back into programming. Getting older

You always hear it, ways to tell that you are getting older. Some are obvious like, going to bed earlier or not enjoying going out clubbing/drinking/partying. Some are scary like, making comments your parents would make, getting annoyed at those kids who have everything. I discovered a new one the other day. Getting excited over finding good deals on kid's clothing. I was at Kohl's looking for some clothes for our  son and I hit the motherload. T-shirts for $1,long sleeve shirts for $3. I got a couple hoodies for $7 a piece. What was truly frightening was how excited I got. I was beyond thrilled when the receipt said I saved over $350. I ended up with around 25 pieces of clothing and the total just barely broke $80 with tax.
